Water in the West hosts workshops, dialogues and other events, bringing together leaders, professionals, stakeholders and academic experts in the fields of water research and water management to inform and examine pressing western water issues. These events are an opportunity for those in the public, private and academic sectors to learn more about water challenges in the west and gain insights into potential solutions.

Water in the West scholars Newsha Ajami and Frank Wolak will join colleagues from Stanford's Graduate School of Business for a Water Data Summit on Sept. 9 at the GSB's Knight Management Center on campus. Organized by the California Data Collaborative with GSB Professor Wes Hartmann, the day-long event will feature interactive panels on how big water data integration is supporting water managers.

Megan will outline important turning points in the evolution of Australian water rights (ever wonder what is really meant by ‘unbundled’ water rights? And should one size truly fit all?) She’ll also consider how far lessons learned and paths taken might be adaptable to the US West, inviting participants to explore how the US West might respond to challenges similar to those faced in Australia.
