Groundwater Model Report

Groundwater models can be a powerful tool for informing water management by educating stakeholders, identifying data gaps and improving understanding. This report provides a framework for model development under California’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). It offers guidance and recommendations for groundwater model use and development under SGMA, including how and when stakeholders should be engaged in model development; milestones for third-party model review; model documentation and archiving; and communicating model outputs to nontechnical audiences.
